Maritime Professional Development UK (‘MPDUK’) was founded in 2024 to provide a range of services centred around maritime simulation to the maritime sector operating sub 24m vessels. At the core of what we do is an exceptional maritime simulation engine around which we are developing a range of products.
At the heart of MPDUK’s business is a clear understanding of the challenges faced by operators and skippers running vessels running under Workboat 3 or 2, MGN280/the Sport or Pleasure Vessel Code (‘SPVC’), local codes and also as pleasure vessels.

Our team includes commercially endorsed skippers holding RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Offshore CoCs (Sail & Power), RYA Advanced Powerboat CoCs and also RYA and MCA Small Ships Navigation & Radar Instructors. Across our team we also have considerable experience of teaching all of the RYA shorebased and afloat qualifications.
The first two products that we brought out were a simulator to support the RYA Radar Course and a simulator that is aimed at those seeking to undertake structured practice in a Harbour/VTS environment. Seawork 2026 saw us launch the innovative SV-ECS/Radar Training Simulator in partnership with Raymarine. Check out the individual pages for more detailed explanations of these simulator products.
Our development of the individual products and the range of simulator products we offer continues at pace as we aim to fulfil our aim to be the simulator of choice for the sub 24m market.
