Maritime Professional Development UK (‘MPDUK’) was founded in 2024 to provide a range of services centred around maritime simulation to the maritime sector operating sub 24m vessels. At the core of what we do is an exceptional maritime simulation engine around which we are developing a range of products.
At the heart of MPDUK’s business is a clear understanding of the challenges faced by operators and skippers running vessels running under Workboat 3 or 2, MGN280, local codes and also as pleasure vessels.
Our team includes commercially endorsed skippers holding RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Offshore CoCs (Sail & Power), RYA Advanced Powerboat CoCs and also RYA and MCA Small Ships Navigation & Radar Instructors. Across our team we also have considerable experience of teaching all of the RYA shorebased and afloat qualifications.
The first two products that we have brought out so far are a simulator to support the RYA Radar Course and a simulator that is aimed at those seeking to undertake structured practice in a Harbour/VTS environment. The Harbour/VTS product is aimed at those such as pilot boat coxswains, pilots, tug masters, PECs and the like and offers an exceptionally cost effective and capable option for Harbour Masters to ensure the competence of those transiting their area of operation in restricted visibility.
